FORT WORTH THUNDERBIRDS--Benbrook Middle School
At the suggestion of School Board Member Norman Robbins, the Benbrook after school coordinator, Mrs. Fisher, invited the Thunderbirds to conduct a program for her students. This was done on March 27. Joe Jopling, Ken Knotts, Woody Lake, Tom Bakeney and Gary Nelson participated. Gary, Tom and Ken provided flight demos and Tom "flew" every student that requested stick time.
The Bobcat gym was an excellent venue for our visit--high ceiling, good lighting, no drafts.
Mrs. Fisher and Ken chat before the students arrive.
Woody brought his Sopwith Camel.
Gary and his airplanes.
Tom brought his usual truckload.
Joe did "How Airplanes Fly".....
Students were fascinated by Ken's Quad-Copter.
Gary flew his Aeronca---lots.
And everybody who wanted to learn got to fly Tom's Vapor.
...and there was individual instruction.
This is a Quad Copter
