Radio Control Association Model Aircraft Safety Code
Effective January 1, 2026
- All pilots must have a current AMA membership.
- Flights must be conducted in accordance with the AMA and Fort Worth Thunderbirds Safety Codes.
- Pilots and Visitors must adhere to Corp of Engineers, Federal, Sate and Local Laws and Regulations.
- Electric aircraft with exposed propellers shall not be ARMED in the pit area UNLESS the propeller is removed.
- All aircraft will not be taxied to or from the pit area as designated by the red “Kill Engine” line.
- Engines must have effective mufflers.
- Pilots will fly from the flight station nearest to the downwind end of the runway. In the case of a crosswind a consensus of the pilots will determine the flight station.
- Aircraft will fly within the established boundaries.
- Aircraft must follow the takeoff and landing pattern in effect.
- Landing aircraft have the right-of-way over aircraft taking off.
- Running aircraft shall not be left unattended.
- No more than five (5) aircraft shall fly at any one time.
- Aircraft are to be launched from the runway.
- FPV aircraft are to be flown with a spotter.
- No aircraft beyond the AMA 55-pound weight limit without proper documentation.
