Field Map & Directions
Thunderbird Field is located in Mustang Park on the south shore of Benbrook Lake. It is on property leased by the club from the US Army Corps of Engineers. The field infrastructure was built by the Corps of Engineers using funds obtained by the club. The club provided additional funding for landscaping and for maintenance facilities. The club provides continuing maintenance and improvements.
The Fort Worth Thunderbirds field is located at 3602 Winscott Plover Road, Fort Worth TX 76126. GPS coordinates for the field are 32.61016, -97.48512. The map below may be used to enter your starting point for directions to our field.
AMA membership is required to fly at Thunderbird field. The Thunderbird Welcome Board is displayed at the center entrance to the covered area. The Thunderbird Field Rules and the AMA Safety Code are posted on the back of the Welcome Board.
Visitors are welcome to fly at Thunderbird Field and can park in the paved lot when a Thunderbird member is present. The parking lot is locked when a member is not present. The Corps of Engineers provides visitor parking outside the gate.
