Senior Pattern Association - Spring
The Senior Pattern Association (SPA) was established to give flyers a chance to fly precision maneuvers like the early days of RC
pattern flying.  Any age person can fly SPA and
airplanes are limited to those designed and
flown before 1976.  The maximum size 2 stroke
engine is .65 cubic inches and the maximum size
4 stroke is .95 cubic inches.  Electric airplanes
are limited to
1400 watts of
power from a
maximum 22.2
volt battery.
To keep costs
in reach for
most modelers,
tuned pipes and
retractable gears are not allowed. There are several classes so that flyers
of any skill level can compete and have fun.  Each maneuver is performed
directly in front of the judges, then the model is turned around and flown
back in front of the judges for the next maneuver.  The emphasis is on fun
for all competitors while learning to fly pattern and set up the airplane.
The event is becoming so popular that well-built ARFs are now available.
Come join us and enjoy the fun and fellowship.
